Temporary partial disability: The worker’s short-term damage only wholly disables them. For instance, workers who break their arm at work must work part-time while their limb heals.

Total permanent: The worker has a condition that cannot be healed. As a result, the employee cannot continue working in the same capacity they were before the accident.

Permanent partial: The employee has a permanent impairment, such as hearing loss, which limits their ability to make as much money as they did before their injury.


The majority of states offer some form of vocational rehabilitation to employees who cannot resume their prior positions due to workplace accidents. If a worker has sustained mental harm at work, several organizations offer psychological rehabilitation. 


Death benefits are provided to a worker’s dependents if they pass away due to a work-related accident. The costs of the funeral and cemetery could also be reimbursed. Some states may pay this for a predetermined period of years and up to a predetermined sum.
